*We ride a train from Long Island to Penn Station for an hour. Then if we want to travel anywhere else we have to take the subway. That gives way too many options for 3 indecisive girls to choose from. Which subway? Which stop? Meaning, we got lost from time to time.
Day 1: We did NOT dominate New York. Late start, not knowing what train to catch but we finally figured it out. We were lost ALL DAY LONG!! We went through Central Park, had a dirty water hot dog, yum yum, walked through Time Square, the zoo, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, The New Yorker, the boat house, where they filmed Enchanted, 27 Dresses and Home Alone 2, found the NBC store and headed back to Long Island. While walking around, random men would rub our arms or touch us. “Hey blue eyes.“ (whiling rubbing Laurens arm…yuck) We also got really gross looks from the men walking around, they weren’t shy at all. P.S. Tina makes the boys say, HELLO!! We hung out with the Murphy family and went to sleep.
Day 2: We needed a break!!! Aunt Jo planned on taking us to Fire Island, a place with many beaches and bars, to go see cousin Don and relax!! Then the rain came….so we bailed! Instead we had a yummy lunch at a pizza place!! We heart Italian ices!!! Next stop was Defiance TATTOOs!! We went in and a very nervous L.C. filled out the paper work! We tried to talk Aunt Jo into getting her tramp stamp, but cousin Danni wasn’t gonna have it!! Tina joked around about getting one, and Amber couldn’t decide on a tattoo to get so she didn‘t get one. There was some colorful rap music playing in the background while Lauren walked into the room. She designed her turtle tattoo that she got on her foot and a tiny star on her wrist, very cute!! Later that night we had fun!! We went to Target with Don and we bought Disney Scene It and movies. Then we stopped by a liquor joint where Don bought an outrageous amount of alcohol! We went back to the house, Don is a bartender so he mixed us some drinks, played Disney Scene It (spanked Don and Danni haha) Uncle Donald made us yummy munchy food, and played beer pong!! WHOOP WHOOP!!
Day 3: BEST DAY IN NEW YORK!! We had a bit of a rough start but it ended with a bang!!! 13 purses, 6 pairs of sunglasses, 2 wallets, 6 pairs of earrings, 4 rings and 3 necklaces later it was official, we DOMAINATED CANAL STREET!! We ate Chinese food in Chinatown, and took a chance to see a Broadway show. We walked SEVERAL blocks to 46th and Broadway, bought tickets randomly for Grease the Musical and had 20 minutes to get there. Our seats were kick-butt!!! 8th row, center!!! We saw Taylor Hicks while we were in line and come to find out he was in Grease, he played Teen Angel. The older women behind us about flipped their lids when he would come on stage. At the end he did a special little song and one of the women jumped to her feet grabbing the back of Amber’s seat, however, not before scratching her shoulders. OUCH, OMG!! She’s crazy for that Taylor Hicks!! We got out kind of late so we booked it over to the train station to catch the last departure. Sleep time.
Day 4: We got to sleep in and we arrived back in the city later for one last time L We had basically seen and done everything we wanted so we went back to Canal Street J It rained. We jumped in a electronic shop for shelter. Some cutie boys offered us t-shirts…they thought they were funny b/c they said they had only white. We chatted for a while…Tina like…Lauren loved!! They told us we needed to go salsa dancing but we passed…Uncle Donald would have been proud! We got some good deals on purses. As we walked down Canal St. many little china girls stood on the sidewalk. They would sneak up on you and without even moving there mouth, in a very soft whisper they would say…coach, chanel, gucci… To get those deals we had to follow the little chinese ladies through alleys, stairways, and very scary places…so worth it! We then hauled butt to the train station because we were late. It was 8:50 pm and we were on 49th street. Our train was leaving at 9:20 on 34th street. We had 30 minutes to run 15 blocks!! We did it!! Arrived at 9:18 to see that our train actually leaves at 10:07!!! Man oh man!!! Killed some time with ice cream and Lauren got a Mets tall Bud Lite. Came home, Madison (L.C.’s other cousin) cooked us some pancakes and bacon and got our junk ready for our next destination, Boston and Salem, Mass.
New York was an amazing adventure!! We learned a lot and had a kick-butt time!!!
WE HAVE BEEN GOING AND GOING…PICTURES WILL BE POSTED WHEN WE HAVE A CHANCE TO CATCH OUR BREATH!!
